Summary:

A new rail station proposed to the south west of Aldridge town centre, with extension of services from Birmingham New Street. The area has shown increasing housing growth in recent decades which will benefit from enhanced rail access.

Benefits:

Shift of commuter travel from private car to rail. This will result in less congestion, air quality improvement and carbon emission reduction.

Establish local rail connectivity between Aldridge and Walsall and other local stations, which will support housing growth and economic regeneration.

Support longer distance and business travel by enabling connections at Birmingham New Street, with improved access to HS2 services.
